Loved the color and the lug sole. Shoe did run too large by half a size. I’m returning them rather than exchanging because I need arch support and this model didn’t have any. Too bad because I did like the look of this shoe.

Had to reorder a half size smaller and STILL they fell off my heal when I walked. Tried thicker socks and loafer socks. Neither was going to keep that shoe on. So pretty. GREAT color. But clearly a wider heal than the Elinor of years past.

Great fit right out of the box – wore them straight to the market, just because. Quality is great, leather is nice and strong – my first pair of Madewell shoes, and I was unsure of what to expect. Now, I am fairly certain I will purchase the black! Oh, and the color is less orange-y, more cognac/British tan (like the vintage Coach bags).

I purchased a half size down based on the other reviews I saw…girlies, how narrow are your feet?!?! My feet are pretty narrow, and I’m usually a 7.5. I order a 7 based on everyone else’s recommendation. Returning the 7’s, and ordering a 7.5.
Overall, the shoes look great. Wrong size may be effecting comfort levels, but it feels like I’m gonna have to spend a good amount of time breaking these in. Definitely not the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever owned…but I look cool, so who cares.

I wanted to love these, but the left shoe was about a size bigger than the right shoe, even though they were both marked as the same size. These are very cute and very comfortable, but it is so strange that one shoe was so much bigger than the other!

Loved the look. Nice leather. Great style. I really liked the lug sole for traction, non slip. Fit was pretty good on left foot except my heel slipped out at bit. I could have adjusted for this with an insert. They did not fit my right foot which I use an orthotic for, otherwise I would have kept them.

I love these shoes, very modern, comfortable, and up-to-date. But I have narrow feet, and these shoes feel wider than usual in the heel–my heel slips out when walking. I’ll probably compensate by wearing thick sock because I like them so much, and a smaller size would be too short.

Beautiful shoes, and well made! BUT narrow! The length was ok, but just no side to side toe room and super tight around the midfoot. Sadly there was just no way it was going to work for me, and I have normal width feet.

I really wanted to like these, since they look great, but they did not fit well. Too narrow in the ball and toe, but oddly too wide in the heel. Both the upper and the sole are quite stiff, so I didn’t have any hope that they would eventually stretch out or break in. The color is excellent though.

It’s the perfect loafer but at this price I wish it had just a bit of arch support. The shoe is structured so you don’t really feel it’s missing. They are well made but the leather does look more like a vegan leather which I guess can be attributed to the “environmentally friendly” processing of the leather. I just hope it doesn’t crack or peel over time.

These loafers are so much more beautiful and well-crafted than I’d even hoped. They cost a little more then I’d normally spend and they are worth every extra cent. It is obvious these shoes will last me years and years as they are the type of shoes that remind me of old-school footwear, but only in the way they are built and crafted—the style is fully current-day. I was recently in Italy and these shoes look like nearly every shoe I spotted being worn by the well-dressed women of that country. Well done, Madewell and Zappos

Exactly what I was looking for: a stouter shoe to wear with jeans and socks in cooler weather. Fits perfectly, nice cushioning and support. I have one foot that has a bump on the outside after a healed fracture. Lots of shoes hit at just the wrong spot on that bump, not these, thank goodness.
Sandal season isn’t going to last forever, and when it is, I’m all set for days I just want a change from boots.

These are gorgeous!! I’m usually between a 7 and 7.5, and went with the smaller size since that was the only size available. They are a little snug, but still comfy, and I suspect they will stretch a little. Can’t speak to blisters yet, as I haven’t taken them for a long walk.
